It starts with a walk round the garden.
The quickest way to start is a call. Dawn will happily talk through what you're thinking — a whole garden that has never worked, borders that have run out of ideas, or a planting plan for a layout you are already happy with. The first visit is informal, and it ends with a costed quote rather than an invoice.

Useful things to have ready
None of this is required — but if you have it to hand, the first meeting goes a great deal further.
- Roughly what you want to be doing out there: eating, sitting, growing, letting the dog or the children loose.
- A photograph or two of the garden as it is, taken from the house.
- Anything you already know you want to keep — a tree, a view, a shed that has to stay.
- The budget you have in mind for the build. Saying it out loud early saves everyone a season.
